Nyborg family cruising on an Endeavour 44 catamaran

Hello cruising families! We have a 5 year old boy and a 3 year old girl. We plan to be in the Fla keys for Feb 03 and then the Bahamas for Mar and Apr. From there we are unsure but either south to Carib or north to New England for summer.

2. Australia bound

We will be commencing our Australia bound cruise in March 2003 from St Martin. We will make our way down (south-east) the West Indies chain to perhaps St Lucia, before heading west to the ABC group and then on to Panama and the Pacific. I am Australian and my wife English. Our children comprise Jaye (8), Kirana (5) and Xavier who will be 5 or 6 mths! He is due to arrive in this world in 2 weeks; and actually Jaye & Kirana will be 9 & 6 by next March. I am interested in other family groups who may be cruising in this area at that time. Although the cruising life is an excellent environment for our kids to grow up in, it is important for all our kids to maintain some kind of social interaction. Unfortunately, the recent attacks & robberies in Venezuela and Colombia have decided for me to avoid these coastlines. I realise these are isolated incidents, but I absolutely will not risk the safety of my children, wife & newborn baby. We will have plenty of other beautiful cruising destinations to call upon during our Pacific crossing. It is sad that many former "safe" cruising areas are increasingly prone to violent incidents. Cruisers have always been subject to minor theft (dinghies/outboards being top of the list), but violence is another story! 3. Caribbean Bound

This is a GREAT idea!!!!

We are leaving next fall 2003, heading south to the Caribbean with our 6 year old daughter for a couple years. This will be invaluable. If the web address changes before then, would you please let us know ar design@maine.rr.com?
