Kim - Kim is a 40' steel cutter rigged sloop that was built in France in 1977 specifically for an Antarctic adventure. Her 4 French owners sailed the boat to French Polynesia via the Panama Canal, hauled the boat for a refit in Australia, and then sailed for Antarctica where they iced the boat in for a winter season in 1980. At that time Kim was the smallest boat to have spent a winter season there.
